Julia W. 伯尼尔在华盛顿完成了她的非裔美国人研究博士学位.E.B. Du Bois Department at UMass Amherst. Before joining W & 她曾在北阿拉巴马大学任教,并在乔治城大学担任梅隆大学奴隶制研究博士后. Her work focuses on the lives of enslaved people, slavery, and abolition in the nineteenth century United States. 她还对在大学校园及其他地方研究和解决奴隶制的死后问题感兴趣. 她目前正在写一本关于美国自助购物的书.
